if every boston fire company had 5 spare sets of helmets / hoods /
gloves / coats / pants / boots - they could give them to civilians (or
cops) at fire scenes and have them help staff exterior hose lines -
which Boston would urgently need on a hot windy day

whats the cost? $50 per year?
