considering that public safety radios seems to have 16 channels per
bank - lets make up a 16 channel load
lets assume that each radio can switch from repeat to direct and maybe
even reverse
Ch 1 - 453.2125 - ucall - direct link to satellite to white house - simplex ops
Ch 2 - 458.9875 - mayday channel - emergency button activation - maybe
- police coord channel - ems coord channel - (ems ic and pd ic should
monitor this channel)
Ch 3 - main local channel
Ch 4 - 2ndary local channel
Ch 5 - tertiary local channel
Ch 6 - 4th local channel
Ch 7 - MetroFire White
Ch 8 - MetroFire Red
Ch 9 - MEMA Metro Boston
Ch 10 - MetroFire North
Ch 11 - MetroFire North FG Alpha
Ch 12 - MetroFire North FG Bravo
Ch 13 - MetroFire Central
Ch 14 - MetroFire Central FG Alpha
Ch 15 - MetroFire Central FG Bravo
Ch 16 - local Ch 1 - duplicate - maybe - or maybe mayday channel - IC
should always be monitoring the mayday channel / emergency button
channel
Another way to say all of this - all fire radios in the boston area
should have easy access to all of these channels - at a minimum
we dont have the Utac channels - we dont have the boston medflight
channel - we dont have any pd or ems channels - we dont have any
federal channels
but this might be the very best that can be accomplished on UHF with a
16 channel load in 2026
