fire fandom - lots of info on stations and apparatus (make model year)
- maybe 50% complete - has some staffing info (total number of staff)
- FDs grouped by county

radio reference - lots of info on radio channels - grouped by county -
maybe 50% complete - some info on some fire station and ambulance
station locations in county wikis sometimes

USFA FD Registry - 1 address for each FD typically - sometimes lists
the number of stations or addresses of stations - maybe has 75% of FDs
listed - can be searched by county

home town locator - maybe has 97% of all fire stations listed - info
is grouped by county - station numbers are often wrong - might be
intentional - no info about apparatus - info came from US Govt Place
Name listing iirc

USA Fire Departments | Fire stations, Firefighters in the USA -
https://usfiredept.com - usually lists HQ info + number of stations +
number of paid staff + number of call/vol staff - listed by state

ems fandom - ambulance service listings - most stations - many
ambulances (make model year etc)

does firehouse.com still do listings that show number of stations per
FD - annual survey?

many states still have statewide directorys of FDs - usually they have
bare bones info - just a fdid number and chief name and chief address
- usually can be searched by county (via a text search of the
document)

each secretary of state has a business lookup tool online - these
usually can be used to find any FD that is incorporated

each state and/or county has a GIS website that can be used to find
parcels - searching for 'fire' or 'volunteer" or FD or VFD can confirm
the locations of many rural fire stations - city stations can be
harder to find - ie Chicago FD stations might all be listed under
'City of Chicago' with a million other city owned blds

As you can see - you have to search multi data sources to come up with
anything meaningful or complete

lets add

FCC ULS has radio channel info - many times there are control point
addresses and phone numbers - and some sub station addresses with lats
/ longs

the census bureau publishes a list of special governmental units iirc
- many fire districts are listed there

ISO has a ton of info on FDs - but they keep it all private afaik

many communities have comprehensive plans and hazard mitigation plans
and wildfire protection plans - some of them are good sources of FD
info

some fire buff sites have very detailed info - indiana and kentucky
come to mind - firenews.org covers New England
