3 minute news report
note - LA County FD only has about 10 tanker trucks
note - none of the LA County fire engines have bumper nozzles
note - none of the LA County fire trucks have gel or phoscheck - they
might have class a foam / laundry detergent
note - the FDs in the area have 3 platoons - the work schedule is 24
hours at the station followed by 48 hours 'off duty' - not at the
station / working a 2nd job - in other words - if a fire station
usually operates 1 fire engine with 4 people on board - if they put
all of their staff on duty - and they have 2 reserve fire trucks at
the fire station - they can then staff 3 fire trucks with 4 people
each
note - if you have 1 fire truck with 4 people onboard - you could
reconfigure your operation to have 4 fire trucks with 1 person on each
- we all see large trucks everyday being driven by one person - the
average Los Angeles fire truck carries 500 gallons of water - imagine
if your local fire station had 12 trucks with 3,000 gallons of water
each instead of 1 truck with 500 gallons of water - you could increase
your gallonage by 7200% just by changing your mind set - it boggles
the mind
