iirc - they got the big ford rescue truck around 1972 - and they went
to uhf around then - apparently the procedure was - whenever Rescue 1
got dispatched to an EMS call - the dispatcher would flip a switch and
patch 460.60 R to the Symmes Hospital Emergency Room - so 10 to 15
minute after R1 arrived at an EMS call you would hear - "Rescue 1 to
Symmes" - and the ER nurse would answer - always a female iirc - "go
ahead Rescue" - and R1 would give a patient report - age - sex - major
complaint - may e ETS (always less than 5 minutes from anywhere in
town)

maybe if the dispatcher forgot to turn on the patch - R1 would just
call Symmes a 2nd time - the dispatcher would have flipped the switch
having realized that they forgot to flip the switch

sometimes the dispatcher would call the hospital by telephone iirc -
if symmes was not answering - maybe they were busy with other cases

lexington fd ambulance went to symmes alot also - before lahey opened
- but those patches went via 154.34 to lex fao iirc then via telo -
155.34 never used iirc - 460.60r never used by lex fd
