5 stations - staffing is - 3 at sta 1 + 3 at sta 2 + 2 at sta 3 + 2 at
sta 4 + 2 sta Sta 5

they could probably take over ambulance service and pick up 2 to 4
more people per shift

not seeing any great remedies by looking at the zerg90 map for
middlesex county -

maybe they could close sta 3 and have westford and hq cover the area

and maybe they could close sta 5 and have westford and acton and hq
cover the area

and maybe they could close sta 4 and have lowell and hq cover the area

or they could stop being so cheap and hire 12 more guys to bring each
station up to 3 person staffing - in fact - hiring 12 firefighter /
medics and upgrading each engine to ALS might just save a dozen lives
every year

they could also combine the police and fire departments and put
everyone on patrol 24/7 - the town must be 99.9% single family homes -
not really a lot of target hazards there - except for the public
schools - and they should all be fully sprinklered by now
