Hi,

I'm the author of goproxy, which seems to be very similar to martian. While martian provides executable and a library, goproxy provides

It looks like martian does everything that goproxy does, and in a better way.

Do you think there's a reason to keep the goproxy project?

Of course, I'll keep it online, so that people who rely on it won't break their code, but I don't see a point with updating the project, and I'll refer new users to the martian project.

I'm interested with the martian project's author's view and advice.

Thanks,

Adam Tanner

Hey Elazar!

Thanks for checking out Martian! :)

It does seem that there is quite a bit of overlap between Martian and goproxy, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. There's always room for alternatives and I think "competition" is a good thing that drives everyone to make their tools better.

If you still enjoy working on goproxy I would say keep going with it. If you don't want to maintain it anymore and would rather point people to Martian that's cool with us too. We're always happy to have new users. We're also open to contributors in case you're interested in helping out with Martian. :)
