Hi Folks! I have a feeling most of you have already seen this, but it's an article from Photoplay magazine of December 1952. It's really very interesting to read how people were perceiving Mario at this point in his too short career. No on knew anything about the financial issues between Mario and Sam Weiler which came out earlier. John Carroll was in the picture and we didn't have Al Teitelbaum in the mix of what would turn out to be even more dissapointment and eventual tragedy.

Anyway, here's the link in case you want to read it. Interesting stuff.

Appreciate this so much, showing a more positive attitude toward Mario Lanza then is in most press clippings.  Very tired of critiques of his voice, style, supposedly lack of musical skills etc. etc.  At least this article tries to bring out the conflicts the author sees and brings into question whether most of the "stories"  he's read are made-up to sell newspapers/magazines.  Journalism being not too trustworthy back then, it's no wonder Mr. Lanza seemed crushed under the weight of it.
