On August 11 of last year, I posted an item "MPSL Bureaucratic BS & Other Stuff" to enlighten everyone about the various aspects that make our pickup soccer games what they are and to try to get something going for others to take over those tasks that I have been doing. Eight people have volunteered to participate in the transition; I have dubbed the group the MPSL Management Team. The members of the team are:

Wayne will continue to coordinate with the school on field and gym use scheduling.

David will continue to take care of the annual insurance policy renewal and take over the financial duties as soon as we figure out the logistics of getting the registration and usage fees to him.

The remaining team members are there to perform check ins and ensure waivers are in place as the need arises.

However, we still need a couple of additional volunteers.

  1. We have 3 indoor soccer balls. Jim is custodian of 1 and I have the other 2; we need 1 more person to take custody of 1 of those 2.  Recognizing that people can't make every game; by spreading the balls out to 3 people, we have a much likelier chance of having a game ball.
  2. We need someone to be a central point of contact. This individual would:
    1. Post updated schedules as needed
    2. Add/remove users in the Google Group
    3. Ensure the group is notified of any schedule changes via the Google Group
    4. Maintain the digital libraries of check ins and waivers

Note that this individual does not have to be present at a game, nor even be a player.

I haven 't quite figured out what to do about the ad-hoc Lost and Found.

If you would like to volunteer to help in these matters, please let us know. It's time for me to turn these tasks over to ensure our pickup games continue without interruption.

I generally handle adding/removing users to the Google group if you don't get to them first. I can continue to do so though a back-up is always useful.

I think, most times, it would be in conjunction with the waiver/registration of new players (when I remember to ask them if they want to be added to the Google Group)..
