Add WMTS layer to the catalog or as a base layer

Hi all,

I'm trying a WMTS layer to my application but i'm not being able to make it work. It's strange because I can add the layer to QGIS without problems and I'm thinking that I must be doing something wrong when declaring the wmts url service path, which is https://tiles.emodnet-bathymetry.eu/wmts/1.0.0/WMTSCapabilities.xml.

In the new.json I'm adding the layer like this:

Any idea of what I must be doing wrong?

Hi, 

configuring manually WMTS requires a lot of configuration (see this). 

Anyway, also adding this from the UI causes an error because of missing ows:OperationMetadata.

Anyway this attribute is optional as for the specification, so I opened this issue on github. 

Please follow it to see when the problem will be solved. Thank you very much for reporting.
