Anyone able to do this ride Tuesday. 

Meet at Brew Ha Ha Hornsby for 0930 start.
Usual route to Galston Gorge, Coffee stop and lunch.

Weather forecast looks good.

I am afraid I am going to have to miss this one. That darn flu virus is still too active for me to come … might manage a ride from home up to the shops but Galston Gorge, no chance.

Hi Tuesday Cyclists,

Well, I should definitely have gone from Berowra to Waitara by train, as the timing would have been different. 

On my way through Hornsby, I was on a bicycle path crossing, and a truck ran into me. I am fine but not sure about the bike ATM. The rear wheel came off, and it looks to be out of alignment, but that could have been there all along. I rode it the rest of the way home OK.

The guy was apologetic and has offered to pay for damages, but...

Sliding doors, eh.

Bad luck with the damage but good luck not to be injured and with the driver admitting fault and offering to pay. I can empathise!

I can send you a well-worded form letter of claim from BNSW if you experience some reluctance from him not to pay.

Oh John, I was just behind you as we approached the lights opposite the Hornsby Westfield entrance. You got through the lights but I didn’t and I had to wait. You must have had your accident soon after you turned right. I’m so sorry for you.

Thank you all for your commiserations. I am fine, though.

Interestingly, the truck hit my back wheel, and I wasn't going fast, so the guy must have totally failed to observe me even though he was looking forward towards me. I suspect that he just wasn't looking for cyclists. It reminds me of the short video about counting red balls and the guy in the gorilla suit.
