Hello all,

In late December and twice in January, I reported an immature Lesser Black-backed Gull from the Portland Fish Pier.  Two of the reports were accompanied by photos and the third was of a distant bird that seemed smaller than the Herring Gull next to it.

Nonetheless, the birds with photos did not pass muster when submitted for eBird, and I want to let others know that the bird(s) I photographed were simply mis-identified young Herring Gulls.  

My apologies to anyone who went looking and came up empty. And my thanks to Louis Bevier and all eBird reviewers for the incredible amount of volunteer effort they contribute to make eBird the most powerful tool can be!
