Sapsucker question

We have had a male yellow-bellied sapsucker hanging around. I know this is not supposed to be common for winter in Maine but this is the second or third winter one has remained. Have others seen them as well? We are curious as to whether this is another bird that’s generally staying north more often now than in previous years. I know when I reported one on a GBBC list once in the last couple of years, the list questioned my accuracy. :)

Yes, I just spotted one a few days ago on the oak tree in our backyard.  I've seen them before this time of year.  I do Cornell FeederWatch and I've
also been questioned about these sightings so this time my husband took a photo for me to attach to my count.

Thank you for the responses…and I forgot to say I am in Gorham!  We have been taking photos this year as well.
