Pelican flyby at East Point Sanctuary

A pelican just flew by East Point Sanctuary in Biddeford Pool heading south. Could not pick up any details but it appeared to be a dark bird overall. Got distant flight shots showing distinct silhouette. Keep your eyes out!

Great timing, I was just sent photos of an American White Pelican that was photographed on Saturday (6 June) morning, sitting on “The Nubbin” in Casco Bay. Not saying they are definitely the same birds, but the proximity of sightings is suggestive of that.

Apparently that proximity wasn’t suggestive of anything. Brad just shared a back-of-camera photo of his bird, which looks good for BROWN PELICAN. Anyone at Timber Point, Wells Reserve, or Nubble Lighthouse should keep watch over the ocean!
