Hi all -- I made a short stop at Sears Island (Searsport) this morning. I love this spot. It's a huge, undeveloped island with a devoted group of volunteer caretaker citizens; it has a gated paved road up the middle that is crowded with encroaching vegetation. You can witness birds working their way to the north tip of the island (where you park), and then watch them launch along the axis of the causeway to the mainland as they continue their flight northward. Pretty cool.

This morning didn't result in high numbers or a huge species count, but I did see 2 Spotted Sandpipers, and at least one apiece Am. Redstart, Tennessee, Ovenbird, Nashville, Chestnut-sided, Yellow-rumped, C. Yellowthroat; Least Fly.

Cheers,
Craig K
