Hi all,

Since I have seen so many birders in Scarborough Marsh this am, I figure I would get the word out...

What I believe is a/the WHITE-FACED IBIS is in the salt panne at the bottom of the hill on the south end of the marsh along Rte1/9 with 42 Glossy Ibis.

It does not have particular bright bare parts or “face,” so it is either not yet in high breeding, or it could be a hybrid. My views were just a little to insufficient to be 100% sure.

As I type this, the birds flew around the corner, heading back towards Pine Point Rd.

Chris Sayers let me know that he had the WFIB at 12:03 at the Audubon center - I didn’t get the email until now so I’m not sure of the current status.
