- Immature Yellow-crowned night heron-South Berwick - 1 Update

The repeated single note call is a Yellow-Billed, and I've been hearing
them quite a lot this year -- and I'm not alone. eBird species occurrence
map shows them in abundance for 2020. Perhaps there is a caterpillar
infestation drawing them? I've read they have a population bump when
periodical cicadas are out, but we don't have that kind of cicada in Maine.

I was surprised to see a yellow-crowned night heron in South Berwick today. (did not want its picture taken...lol). Unusual site for this area for sure!
