A late afternoon walk yesterday along Mountain Division trail in Fryeburg (next to the NH border) yielded 42 species including 2 Prairie Warblers, 6 Eastern Towhees, 2 Field Sparrows, 5 Indigo Buntings & 1 Vesper Sparrow.  The open grassy areas surrounding miles 49-50 of the trail are particularly productive for these specialties.  And it's a great little spot: a wide paved trail with good views, varied habitat and few people (even last year before the dubious "new normal" set in).  There are 2 places to park: either the Maine Tourism Associates visitor center off Rt. 302, or where Porter Rd. crosses the trail a bit further east.
