Just passing along Ellen’s positive report that the Golden-crowned Sparrow is still present in her Abbot yard this morning, 22 Oct.

Good birding,

If anyone heading up to Abbott to see the Golden-crowned Sparrow is looking for a way to thank Ellen for being such a welcoming host to the birds and birders, it's a long way from Abbott to stores that sell bird seed. I would think bringing some up, especially sunflower seed, would be appreciated.

Ellen reported to eBird that Thursday (22 Oct) afternoon was the last sighting of the Golden-crowned Sparrow in Abbot: https://ebird.org/checklist/S75286849 Sounded like there was a pretty big change in the birds at her feeders starting on Friday.

Hope this helps,

Doug

Ellen Blanchard reports that the Golden-crowned Sparrow has not been seen since Thursday, 22 Oct. She said "54 birders got to see the bird and 6 have not seen the bird." Thank you, Ellen, for allowing so many to enjoy your four-day wonder!
