BULLOCK'S ORIOLE - Camden, 3 Jan

This might induce déjà vu, but a BULLOCK’S ORIOLE has been visiting a yard on Central Street in Camden since 31 Dec 2019. Yes, this is the exact same street the Bullock’s Oriole in 2016-17 was on, and even visiting one of the same yards as that occurrence. This new bird, also an immature male, was found by Kristin Kalajian at her feeders at 14 Central Street (the steel-sided house at the intersection of Central and Cross) where it has been seen daily since, most regularly from 9:00-11:00AM. She is fine with visitors stopping by to look, feeders are behind the house and can be seen by going around the west side of the house and standing near the trailered boat. The best place to park is right on Central Street, please do not park in Kristin’s driveway. The bird was also seen briefly visiting feeders nearby on Washington Street, but with no homeowner contact there, I’d recommend focusing near Central x Cross.

I am currently watching the Bullock’s oriole, along with many other feeder birds, from the parking lot of the Christian Science church at the bend on Central St., which is about a quarter mile from the stakeout location. Not a bad way to kick off 2020!
