Today in North Berwick I had four juncos, the first of the winter, and now two white throated sparrows.  Things are looking up as late winter is here.  There were also three bluebirds, not a bad day.

We've had an abundance of juncos for weeks in our Kennebunk yard, often about 20.  And in the last week, we've had a new regular added, a mockingbird.   We've very occasionally had one in years past, but never a daily presence.

Juncos have been visiting in abundance over the last month here in the Midcoast area. We typically have 20 or more each day under our feeders. They shelter under our deck and garden shed, fly to the feeder to forage, then return to consume the seeds.
