Hello Maine Birders:

The resident Northern Mockingbird at Portland Transportation Center has been singing up a storm lately. I stepped out the door the other night and thought: "How odd, Eastern Bluebird flying over at midnight?!" Then it kept going.

Check out this recording and hear how many "species" you can ID.

Best,
Eric

Very cool!
I'm not very good at birding by ear. So I ran the recording by Merlin's Sound ID.
It heard 8 species starting with a Carolina Wren then American Crow,  Robin, Tufted Titmouse, Eastern Phoebe, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Blue Jay, and White-breasted Nuthatch.
Large sections had no ID and Merlin didn't hear the Bluebird.

The last several nights have had very heavy nighttime migration flights show up on radar which explains the variety of birds at my feeder this weekend.

Good birding!
