A man, Bryan, has neighbors who see "bees" just over the line on his property, and they want to kill them.  The exterminator said, no they are honey bees.  Bryan has not actually been out to look at them, but the neighbors insist the bees are in the grass.  They have been there, going on 3 days.

It sounds odd to me, but I myself had a swarm of bees ON THE LAWN in my yard this spring (and was able to hive them up.)

Would some kind soul go and look at these bees, gathering them in if they are indeed honey bees.

The swarm has moved on, and is no longer there.
Thanks to all of you for your patience.

Thank you Jeanne.

We did have someone reach out to us this afternoon from Waunakee saying they were told the exterminator can not treat. I am attaching pictures that were shared with us.

I shared that they are most likely "Wilke's Mining Bees" and that they are not dangerous. I shared with her this website to help her figure out next steps: https://swarmcatcher.co.uk/useful-information/what-to-do-with-mining-bees/

I was able to use beemachine.ai to help with the identification of these bees.

Our club gets a handful of questions each year about "bees" and we do our best to help them figure out next steps. Relocating these types of bees is next to impossible without killing them. I try to help empower them with knowledge so they can make the best decision for their space.
