I was also following the Lintern line, and have the m/certificate on Thomas and Elizabeths marriage, thinking Thomas was my great g/dad, he adopted my granddad at the age of 10yrs old as he married my great nana in 1902 after Lizzie died, i have a little more on this line if you wish to contact me.

Hi, and thanks for your message.

I've got my fingers crossed your Thomas was my Samuel's brother.  I'm almost sure he was but I can't prove it.  I base the link on the "Mrs Sheppard" that was a witness on Samuel's marriage certificate then finding evidence of a marriage between an Elizabeth Sheppard and a Thomas Lintern.

Do you have any idea of Thomas's parents and family, birthplace etc.?  Is it possible for you to email me a scan of Thomas & Elizabeth's marriage certificate, or give me the information on it?  I can email you a copy of Samuel & Hannah's marriage certificate in return, not that there's any parental information on it.

Do you have a photo of Thomas?

Best wishes, Lynda

Hi

I have a  line of Lintern in my tree, that being Wilmshurst.
My records show a marriage of Florence Violet Wilmshurst to George William Lintern 1919.
They had 10 children.  The parents of George William Lintern  are Samuel Lintern
married to Anna (Hannah) Gibbons

Hi Gloria; I think we've been in contact before :)

Do you have a marriage certificate for this 1919 marriage?  I haven't been able to find evidence of a marriage.  I do know George married Emily Beasley on 4 July 1907 and the marriage didn't last long as she didn't like Korokoro.

By the by, there was a Florence Violet Wilmshurst living in Petone at the same time as our Violet; I've found her in the electoral rolls.  She married Roy LANG in 1922.  She was the daughter of Hedley Wilmshurst & Theresa WATSON and granddaughter of Charles Wilmshurst & Elizabeth SPRY.

Cheers, Lynda

Hi Lynda

I don't hold a copy of a marriage cert. but I have it noted in a  family tree book.
As for Florence Violet being connected to Hedley Wilmshurst.  No, my records show her parents
to be William Edwin Wilmshurst and Kizia Mudgway thus making her grand parents
Rachel Mudgway and John Wilmshurst.

Cheers Gloria

Hi Gloria.  I think we'll need to do some research.  I found the birth registration of Violet Wilmshurst to William & Kezia, and it was just as Violet.  I know I've seen Florence Violet in the electoral rolls but for the life of me, I can't now locate them and I didn't save them (doh).

For a while I thought Violet was Florence Violet and some people copied my research, which I now think was incorrect.  That's not to say I'll be proved wrong, but in this case I think they're two different people of the same family.  We will have to see :)

Hi
I have done a check thru my records, and thought that maybe giving u this might help to verify.
Ok, I know u say u have checked it out, but anyway:  Florence Violet Wilmshurst b. 12/6/1887
She died 13/4/1943.  She was 1 of 14 children, she being the 2nd.  Also when she married she had 10 children.
They being from what I have on record,  Cyril (Charlie) Lintern, not sure of birth and death times.  Eileen Mary Lintern b. 28/3/1910, Edward (Eric) Lintern b. 21/1/1912,  Arthur Lintern b. 21/5/1915,  William George Lintern b. 24/3/1917, Harry Lintern b. 31/8/1928, Mrytle Lintern, Doris Lintern, Ethel (Maude) Lintern and Harvey Douglas Lintern b. 26/3/1927.

Hope this might be of some help.
