Hello All,

I was simply wondering if a launch day at Snow Ranch is happening on the first Saturday of August (August 2nd). If not, then when is the next mid-power launch day at Snow Ranch?

Thank you.

Next launch will be after a significant amount of rain. Definitely not August.

Hi Kanishk,

It's hot and dry these days, brown grass burns easily.  If you're ok with driving a long ways and the heat:  Extreme heat.  And Dust.

Upcoming launches in order of proximity to SF Bay Area:

TCC, August 12.  About the same distance from South Bay as Snow Ranch, but south towards Fresno.

<https://tccrockets.com/v2/>

Sierra Rockets.  August 8th (night launch), 9th.  Misfit Flats, Silver Springs, NV

<https://sierrarockets.org/>

Rocketry of California, August 9th.  Lucerne Dry Lake.  South of Barstow.  430 miles from Sunnyvale .Big club, friendly folks, probably have a rocket supply vendor at the launch.

<https://rocstock.org/>

Southern Oregon Rocketry.  Rogue Valley, OR.  Small launch, a few ex LUNAR folks attend.

Not recommended for newbies: Aeronaut Launch event, August 1, 2, 3.  AeroPac, Black Rock Dry Lake, Nevada.
Extreme weather conditions.  Danger.

What about the Brigantino Park Site? Is that still open? I'm just asking because it's closer to my location so its a smaller travel distance.

I believe Brigantino Park is currently a no go as well due to dry grass and fire safety.

TCC as Cliff mentioned is good. Long drive, but Sierra Rocketry at Misfits Flat in Nevada is also nice, super friendly people. Bonus is you can make a weekend of it and spend an afternoon in South Lake Tahoe after launching rockets.

Well, tomorrow IS the 24th, but it’s Thursday. Did you mean the 26sth?

No problem. You’ll notice that I misspelled “26th”.
