Group getting L1 certifications

Hi everyone,

We're a small group (5-6) of model rocket enthusiasts in the Bay Area - some are experienced but most of us are hoping to get our L1 certifications. We're aiming for the 3/7 launch at Snow Ranch.

We plan to do the following before our flight:

- Get Tripoli memberships

- Build from kits 

- Purchase motors from rocket.supplies and pickup at the launch site. 

- Confirm the 3/7 date for launch once we're closer to the date.

We had a few questions that we were hoping to get clarification on:

1. What is the age limit for children at the launch site? Any restrictions on babies/toddlers/etc.?

2. Do you sell motors or is ordering from rocket.supplies + launch site pickup the preferred option?
3. Will there be someone who can certify us on 3/7?
4. Is there a process for us to sign up as a group (or would we just do the family walk-on fees/get memberships to LUNAR at the site)?

• Get Tripoli memberships
  If you do that you will be at the wrong club. We cannot sign off on Tripoli certifications. However, if you join NAR, we can sign those off and your certification is valid at Tripoli launches.

1. No restrictions on humans, however, no pets are allowed.

1. Do you sell motors or is ordering from rocket.supplies + launch site pickup the preferred option?
   

1. We do not, but Rocket Supplies is normally on site.

1. Will there be someone who can certify us on 3/7?
   

1. Any two NAR members can certify you. There will be plenty.

1. Is there a process for us to sign up as a group (or would we just do the family walk-on fees/get memberships to LUNAR at the site)?
   

1. Since you are going for Level 1, you are no longer a youth group. You may pay the walk on fee, or join LUNAR before the February launch, and the fees will be half of what they will be in February.

Hi,

I lead a college rocketry group and we were planning to try for our L1 certs in the February launch. Could someone confirm whether we qualify as a “youth group” or whether each of our members would have to pay for LUNAR membership?

I see ARC in your signature line. Youths are covered. But adults doing level 1, time to learn adulting and help with the costs. So yes, each needs to pay. As a helpful hint, joining LUNAR this month is only $25. Walking on nest month costs$20.
