Dear LUNAR Members,

The Hollister launch at Brigantino Park has been replaced by the Snow Ranch launch this month.

Please join us at Snow Ranch! It is beautiful and worth the drive, plus you get to launch rockets up to 15,000 ft! 🚀🚀🚀

Please find all the essential details below:

Date and Time: Date: Saturday Setup: 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM Launch: 9am until 4:00 PM or until conditions deteriorate

Weather Update: The weather forecast for Saturday is looking favorable for our launch, however there is a storm coming. Please check the hotline (925-443-8705), regardless of weather, for any last minute updates.

Important Guidelines: As we prepare for this event, please remember the following guidelines:

  • While driving on the dirt roads leading to the launch site, maintain a maximum speed of 7mph.
  • When encountering puddles of water on the road, drive through them rather than attempting to drive around.
  • The roadbed is solid, but the sides are not, and attempting to drive around may result in getting stuck. Even 4 x 4 vehicles have encountered difficulties in the past.

Volunteer Assistance Needed: Our LUNAR events rely on the dedication of volunteers to run smoothly. Dave Smith-Uchida has provided an overview of what we require. Tony has generously offered to pick up the trailer at 6:30 AM in Livermore. However, we are seeking someone who can help transport it to the launch site and return it to the farmhouse (not all the way back to Livermore). Please remember that without the trailer of launch equipment, we cannot proceed with the event.

Additionally, Tony will need to leave by noon, so we'll need extra hands for tasks such as Launch Control Officer (LCO) duties and packing the trailer at the end of the day, which is typically around 4 PM.

We have created a volunteer signup sheet that we encourage everyone to fill out before the launch. Even if you can only spare a few minutes, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Please add your name and the times you are available to the signup sheet.

Contact Information: Should you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me directly at 408-707-0640 or via email at mot...@rocket.supplies.

Please reach out to our on-site vendor Rocket.Supplies to arrange on-site delivery of motors, kits and components.

We look forward to a successful rocket launch event at Snow Ranch and hope to see you all there!
