I'm using Lucee 5 and am trying to view my undelivered email. I've seen older posts saying to use WEB-INF/lucee/remote-client, but my folder is empty.

Hi Raymond,

Just tested using Lucee 5 Express and the undelivered mail was saved
as a .tsk file here:

[context root]\WEB-INF\lucee\remote-client\open

Are you sure you are looking in the right web context? Is the mail
listed in the web context admin under Tasks?

Julian.

My remote-client folder is totally empty. :\

As an FYI, this is not so urgent - using a local fake SMTP server.

And you're definitely looking in the right web context (or only have one)?

You definitely don't have a local SMTP server running - i.e. it
definitely failed?

Yep to all. :) I literally downloaded Lucee Express and used it as is.

Sorry to be tedious, but as it's Lucee Express can I double-check the
full folder path which for me on Windows with Lucee 5 installed to
C:\lucee5 was:

C:\lucee5\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lucee\remote-client\open

Strange. And you didn't get any processing error when you called the
mail function? i.e. it ran ok and tried to deliver the mail?

We seem to be identical apart from the OS. Give up now I think, but
just in case, here's my calling code (with no SMTP server running)

<cfmail from="ma...@redactedemail.com" to="ma...@blankedout.com"
subject="test" server="127.0.0.1">test</cfmail>

Just ran that to double-check, and again I get the failed "task"
listed in the web admin under Tasks, and the .tsk file in the folder
mentioned before.

All I did different was no server.

When I tried with no server I got an error message saying none had
been configured in the admin. Have you configured one then?

Yep. I used localhost. That's what I've done in the past with ACF. I
obviously don't have a server there - but in the past that worked fine
- it just dumped the file.

Just tried replicating that: set up a non existing mail server at
localhost in the server admin, then ran the code without specifying
the server. It ran and the failed task appeared as before.

That's me out of ideas I think, sorry.

No worries. Likewise, I use smtp4dev on Windows. Much better than
dealing with those horrid failed tasks :-)
