Dependent Select (Jquery/Ajax)

Hi all,

I am trying to make a dependent select box that will refresh without a page load.

Select 1:  Countries

Select 2: States/Provinces

I have a db table for countries, and one for states and provinces that are related to those countries.

When a user selected a country, the second select needs to run a query on the states and provinces table and populate with appropriate data.

Simple, it seems...  but I have searched and searched, and am failing miserably.

All examples I have seen show using CFSELECT and "bind" to a CFC.  But Lucee doesn't support BIND in cfselect.  So I need a workaround.

If anyone can answer this and show me a solid documented example, rather than a code snippet, I would be so happy!
