I'm not sure if SSL/TLS is an option for cfftp on lucee...

SSL/TLS is not an option for cfftp on Lucee, had the same issue a month of so ago, there is ticket for it here:
In the comment on that ticket there is a suggestion on how to do it.

D'oh, I should have just goon to the ticket first rather than googling
