First let me say that I am really excited about this new direction with Lucee. However it does bring up a lot of questions in terms of a road map.

Having attended many railo presentations such as "Railo 5 and beyond" I know that there were plans for major language enhancements in Railo. For example OSGi, support for polymorphism modifiers like "abstract" and "final" for functions, integration with log4j etc etc. These were among the many new features I personally have been waiting very impatiently for what feels like an eternity now.

How much if any of these language enhancements can we expect to see in Lucee's future?

Also another thing I've been hoping would see the light of day is the codemetrix tool. Should Railo/Rasia ever make it available will Lucee be compatible with it? Will Lucee have its own version?

I know its early days yet, but the more information the community can get the better.

Steve, in the launch party today, Micha pretty much said everything in the Railo roadmap is still the Lucee roadmap.  Obviously, he's not going to guarantee every last feature, but I don't think this changes any of the overarching plans.  The important distinction Micha made was that Lucee is it's own thing now, so anything is technically possible.  He even jokingly said cfclient could happen if the association wants it :)

Thanks!

Note, it looks like Lucee will actually be using this discourse forum, so we can move the conversation over there :)

That's a temp URL until the real one gets configured:

Public forums are actually here in Google.

There was a discussion about where the forums should be before the meeting and the message didnt get out to everyone.
