Hi there,

currently I'm adapting a CF site from Railo to Lucee 5.

I have the problem, specific (polish) characters inserted in a PDF are displayed as a question mark.
(see screenshot)

The text in the templates is ok and on Railo it runs fine.

Bug or feature? ;-)

Best regards - Heinz

Hi Nando,

should be a bug (...or missing adaption) in Lucee 5.
In Lucee 4.5.3.018 it is working the right way.

Have you filed a bug report for it?

Hi Heinz,

Could it be, that your charset settings (in the web/server admin) for your Lucee install are different from those in your Railo install? That could explain the difference...

Kind regards, Paul Klinkenberg

Hi Paul,

first I installed Lucee V4.5.3.018 with the same character setting as the previous Railo installation.
Everything works fine!

After the installation of Lucee V5.0.0.252 (Updated to Lucee V5.0.1.48; also with same character settings) I had the problem in character set in generated PDFs with CFDOCUMENT.

Tanks for reply and best regards

Heinz

Hi Nando,

Yes, it's stored as UTF-8 in a PostgreSQL database and at system load (first time) the the text elements are stored into memory. From there they are
taken by a ordernumber and placed into the generated PDF.

Best regards

Heinz
