Hi,

I hope you are doing well. I was using the student version of the Ls-Dyna for simulating the three-point bending test of concrete materials, and the license for this software had expired. After that, I installed the new version, but I faced a problem regarding the solver, as the simulation results were not compatible with the results I got from the previous version. In my model, I have two material properties, two MAT_273, for different parts. So, I can see that damage is not progressing in the way that it should be, and the maximum load is different. I have checked the hourglass parameters and element type from the Section, but I was not successful in getting them. I tried to run this model when I had only one material property, and it was good, without problems with the parts. The only confusion that I have is how we should assign different material properties without facing such an issue.

Best regards,

Dear Reza,

Identify the release from the student version.

For example. R12.0 --  ls-dyna_smp_d_R12.0_winx64_ifort170.exe

You should be able to find that same release for your new version.

This new version  should give the same results as the student version.

If not, you need to find what changes were made in the new versions

which are causing the differences.  You may have to contact your distributor

for help.

Sincerely,

Dear Reza,

It appears that you are running Version smp d R16 in your new executable.

What version were you running in the older student executable?

Check various release notes for mention of  upgrades made to newer versions.

You might have to contact your distributor.

Sincerely.
