Dear all,

In the attached figure, you can see the reinforcing bars of a concrete beam. How can I determine the axial strain time history for the specified beam element of the steel bar?  Which parameters and keywords should I activate before analysis? Any further guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Mahmood,

Please see if the following helps:

https://www.dynasupport.com/howtos/element/beam

In this manuscript, the various methods of including rebar in reinforced concrete were described. The effectiveness of these methods was assessed through a comparative example of a reinforced concrete slab loaded in axial extension, under self weight and subjected to air blast loading with comparisons to experimental results. The manuscript included a mesh refinement study where the reinforcement and concrete mesh densities were changed independently.

There are a few parameters that need to be specified:

1\ *DATABASE_EXTENT_BINARY parameter BEAMIP

2\ *DATABASE_ELOUT

3\ *DATABASE_HISTORY_BEAM
