Hi All

I am trying to simulate the shock tube experiments using LS-DYNA. For that, the pressure versus time graph from the experiment is used as the inlet condition for the numerical model consisting of Solid ALE elements and Lagrangian Shell elements. But after the amplification of pressure (through *LOAD_SEGMENT_SET) to the model, the pressure gets amplified. Not able to sort out why this is happening. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Were you expecting to see the input pressure pulse travel through the mesh essentially unchanged, e.g. same maximum pressure?

If so, I suggest you first scale down the input pressure history by say 90% and see if that produces your expected result.   --len
