I googled “ls-dyna contact beam to shell edge” and received this reply:
To model contact between a beam element and a shell edge in LS-DYNA, use *CONTACT_AUTOMATIC_GENERAL, add null beams along shell edges, and include those null beams on the slave side. Standard surface contacts do not reliably track raw shell-edge to beam interactions without geometric preparation.
