hey!

I recently migrated from my old router to a new Ubiquiti UDM Pro. Everything was successfully switched over without major issues, except for the Intercom (Loxone).

When I connect the Intercom directly to the UDMP (using an injector) or to the USW-24-PoE (without injector), it is not detected on the network.
I've tried everything, including restoring the Intercom to factory settings, but nothing seems to work. I just don't see Intercom on the network at all.

At the moment, the only workaround is to reconnect the Intercom to the old router, switch the old router to bridge mode, and plug it into the UDMP. Only in this setup the Intercom is detected.

I believe we can rule out power issues and cable problems (since, as mentioned, it works when connected to the old router).

Has anyone encountered this issue before and found a solution?
Any advice is greatly appreciated because I've run out of ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Daniel

Hey,

Could be an IP thing? Maybe you have to change the IP if you set it as static before and changed your router. Could ne the reason your miniserver can find it anymore

Yes, I’ve thought about that, but it’s probably not the issue.
I tried changing the Intercom's IP address (to a new one) while it was still connected to the previous router, but it didn’t help.
The same method worked without any issues for the Miniserver and Audioserver.
Also, all my IoT devices are now in the same VLAN with identical firewall rules, and they all work perfectly—except for the Intercom.

In the case of the Intercom, when plugged into Ubiquiti devices, not even the LAN status LED lights up and I see nothing on this particular port in UDM console.

Networking. Vlans. Static IP addresses.

The problems lies in there somewhere.

I am sure a factory reset would resolve the issue and could well be the quickest way of getting it working.

thanks, George, for the suggestions, I've already formatted the SD card with the new intercom's firmware, but the result is the same.

I just connected an additional Ubiquiti device, the USW-Aggregation, to the USW-24-POE. I plugged the intercom into the USW-Aggregation, and surprise – it works! But not immediately; it started working only after I disabled following parameters (in port's configuration of USW-Aggregation):
- Spanning Tree Protocol
- LLDP-MED

Now, intercom still doesn't work when connected directly to USW-24-POE (without USW-aggregation), even though I disabled those parameters for that port as well. So, I believe the issue is related to the switch settings (perhabs global switch settings) of Ubiquiti devices, like STP / switch prioritization.

I can't see anywhere on the message trail that says which generation of Intercom this is, but I had a lot of problems with the Gen 1 intercoms and Ubiquiti kit (and also the VOIP providers) and pretty much  swapped them out for Gen 2 units.

If you are using the Gen 2 one they tend to work pretty seemlessly, however I have had the situation where the IP address etc stored in config didn't match what the unit thought it had.

I would suggest that when you put the other router between the USW and Intercom that you log into the Intercom on its IP address and see what IP details it thinks it has - I would then overwrite these with what you are going to use with the unifi Kit / config and remove the 3rd party router and see what happens.

I have also had issues in the past with more than one IP address being assigned by Ubiquiti to a device on a VLAN or specific Switch port,  a few years ago they didn't directly support static IP as such but had a strange way of assigning IP's which wasn't immediately obvious.

Raise a support case with unify. They are typically very good at supporting these issues.
