Hi,

Has anyone come across an application or easy method of integrating Octopus Energy APIs into logic?  I am thinking of basic stuff like switching on smart sockets around the house to charge devices when energy is at its cheapest...   I am sure everyone will be looking into this in the coming months!!

It seems a shame to have a more powerful mini server but it still can't handle REST/JSON apis easily.  As a last resort I will look at loxberry/raspberry pi bridge to Loxone.

thanks.

I would look at node-red. I know that there re packages for Octopus, as I have previously used those within node-red.

I do have the loxberry MQTT bridge running, but it seems very heavy on the CPU. Strange, as it is not doing much.

The Loxone is a very specific and low power computer. I would be hesitant to burden it with any more processing demands that strictly necessary.

I am just in the process of connecting Loxone to a tradfri hub, which works nicely via node red. Three pieces: Loxone, node-red and tradfri. Not too much to go wrong.

Best wishes, George

Take a look at my tutorial for using Openweather data in Loxone. it might give you a few pointers as to where to start.  Don't know if Loxone can handle HTTPS though so it may be a non starter

I ended up using a homebridge plugin, which provides me the ability to enable sockets and other things around the house when prices are low or negative.  I tried to feed the current price into Loxone but it's so damn hard to get the filtering conditions correct.  Loxone could improve their API connectivity now that the mini server 2 is here.
