Surprise for KaTe fans in Stranger Things

Remember how someone once said, of Love Hounds, "This *IS* elsewhere..."   ( |>oug?) ...funny how "Stranger Things", the "elsewhere" of the upside down and whatnot, works pretty good with KaTe :)

The new season, Season 4, Episode 1, at the 28 minute mark.  I was stunned.  Enjoy!

Season 4 starts in January 1986, so it's accurate that she'd have this on her Walkman.
I remember doing the same back then, walking to/from work with headphones on, playing my cassettes.
This was when I lived in NYC, and I still associate HoL with bitterly cold winter.

I had that Walkman and a HoL cassette too. 😎👍🏼 So many memories. Loved the whole sequence, though I thought they might actually kill Max. Lots of screaming at the TV from me.

Yeah, you skipped ahead to episode 4 there, I see, which I had not seen when I started this thread.  In short, skip up to the, oh 1 hr, 10 minute mark of episode 4 and play to the end and enjoy!!    *Pro tip*  - do NOT skip the end credits in this episode...do not let the next episode to auto-load and skip the credits.  Put sound to the max, close your eyes, and listen to the sublime auditory credits to end   :D

Apparently, RUTH is something of the theme song for the season and is used in at least one other pivotal scene, in addition to the occasions mentioned so far in this thread. There are some articles about this on the Kate Bush news site, and RUTH is or was supposedly bumped to #1 song on iTunes due to new interest in the song by viewers who might have never heard of Kate before.

There are a few articles about all of this on the Kate Bush news site. In one article, they have an interview with the producers where they talk about how psyched they were to include this song so prominently. They say that Kate herself was also involved a bit in reviewing how the songs were used in the episodes.

G’day all! |>ougl, KaTe’s music is actual pivotal. The Big Bad for season 4 is sort of Freddy Kruger-ish. He can capture and kill you by by dragging your consciousness into another realm (the Upside Down) and torture you with your deepest insecurities and failings. One of the main protagonists (Max) is up next for this when they find out the one guy to survive all this previously was listening to his favourite song on the radio and it somehow grounded him.

Max’s favourite artist is KaTe and RUTH is her song. Queue, fantastic heart pounding scene with pumping RUTH and her fighting back and escaping. It’s no wonder a younger  audience is going crazy for it all.
