Hi everyone,

I’m a new member, and I've just got my access set up after attending a Wednesday open evening. I’m eager to dive into my first big project: a campervan conversion.

I’ll be focusing on the interior cabinetry and would like to get inducted on the major woodworking machines (table saw, band saw, etc.). I actually have some dedicated time off coming up from April 20th to April 24th, so I’d love to get cleared to use the equipment by then.

  • Is there an inductor or maintainer available for a session during that window?

  • I’m happy to join a group or work around your schedule—just let me know what works best.

Quick parking question: Since I'll be working on the van fittings, is it okay to park my van in the alleyway during the day or after office hours? I want to make sure I’m not blocking access for the neighbouring units or violating any estate rules.

Looking forward to getting started and meeting more of you in the workshop!

Warm Regards

Iraerson Aguiar Pinto

check out the induction-requests channel on the Hackspace discord server. There is a sub-thread Next Wood Machinery Induction where candidates are negotiating the next date for an induction. NB I will only conduct an induction for 3-5 inductees so you have to cooperate with each other

Hi,

As regards parking, the alleyway is for pickup and drop off.

If you attend during the day you will notice that some tenants stretch the boundaries of this rule somewhat, but given that the building is generally quite busy during the day, parking a van there during working hours while you work on it is likely to cause significant inconvenience and precipitate the next crackdown by the landlord, so please do not do it.

However you have 24/7 access to the space, if you can do your work in the evenings then that should be ok.

regards

Jonathan
