Greetings.
I am a “New Age” musician in the wellness / spa / comfort spaces.
I’m 55 in a couple days, have been using Logic Pro for 8 years, and here to learn / possibly contribute.

I just bought Omnisphere, and through holding my phone in one hand and moving the mouse with the other, using Be My Eyes, I was able to get through the Authorization process.
I’m used to a lot of plugins including my fav pianos plugin Pianoteq. But even with VOCR, Omnisphere is unusable so far as I can tell.
Google Gemini says that there are a bunch of aupreset files someplace that correspond to all the internal patches, which I can place in the presets folder and thus be able to cycle between presets / audition / save patches. Controls View shows parameters by number only and I don’t imagine we can really do deep sound design with this instrument, unlike Alchemy, but I’m really in it for the pads. Many of these are keystone pads for my particular area. I’ve put off buying it for years because I can stack multiple other instruments and do sound design.
If you know of any accessibility tips for this one or know where to get the presets files which will let us access the instruments, I would be more than grateful to you.

Thanks and hope I didn’t break any list etiquette, I haven’t been on one of these in many years.

As I understand it, Omnisphere is only really accessible using one of the Complete Control keyboards wit a set of 3rd party presets or NKS files  that are sold separately. You can read an overview of the system and what I maybe referring to here.

Hi

Omnisphere is not accessible in a traditional way, not even through controls view.
Aupresets you mentioned can be found online for free, but those are saved for very old version of omnisphere, 2.3 or something so those definitely won’t work on anything above version 2.5.
If you use komplete kontrol, you can purchase nks presets for omnisphere from freelance soundlabs for very low price, and that gives you even some control over the patches.
The only other way is natively, but only to audition and play presets as they are, there’s no control over them.
It’s simple, just use up and down arrow keys to move through presets. However, you should be aware that every time you load the omnisphere, there’s a splash screen showing versions for software, sound sources, and presets, plus available updates.
In order to use up and down arrow keys to go through presets, you should remove that splash screen. Use VOCR to OCR the screen, and going from above find a word Omnisphere and click on it with VO keys + shift + space and it will disappear. After that you can use up and down arrows.
Hope it helps.

Cheers

Thanks guys. I’ll have to keep looking. Looks like I’m out $400 since it’s nonrefundable. Maybe I will write to them and ask for some aupreset files that correspond to all the patches. I tried what you all said, and arrow keys don’t move through anything in the editor or controls view. I tried the Omnisphere / editor view first. If anyone else has other ideas I’m open. I don’t have Komplete Kontrol, I use 2 M-Audio 88 key keyboards the upper one the KeyStation and the lower one is the Hammer88 which can take all 3 piano pedals: damper, sostenudo and pianisimo (soft). So I haven’t gone out and bought the Komplete Kontrol ecosystem.

Open to further suggestions and will write to them and explain my situation.
If they send me a zip file, I will give you guys a Dropbox link.

You can get something like the m32 which is the least expensive and smallest Komplete Kontrol keyboard and use it just to  control parameters and choose presets while still playing on your other Keyboards.  You don’t need to go all in on Komplete Kontrol eco-system, just need one of the Komplete Kontrol keyboards the Komplete Kontrol software and the 3rd. Party nKS files.
Yes still a drag after spending $400, but the additional purchases could be the difference between it being usable or not in your business.

Great suggest. Not sure I’m doing this right now, but I did check Gemini and it says Spectrasonics can send a "Accessible Default Multi” file which is supposed to expose the most common parameters in Controls View. I’m hoping they write me back and I can forward that file on to you guys also, if that part’s new to you all. Just attempting to do my part to unfragment all this info here.
I have saved a patch to my local library, and once I know which is the parameter to turn off the arp I can do so on additional vocal pads. I already have a ton of really nice lush analog strings that sound like Juno / Jupiter / Roland etc, but some of these mixes with gguitar landscapes etc. are going to really be valuable for the community I serve.

Thanks Tom and everyone else, I appreciate it. am I allowed to attach a file to this list? I’d send the default multi when it gets here if I’m allowed, just so eveyone can use Controls View. If Gemini is correct, they sounded like it checked.

Gemini is right in a way that they really offered it before. Wasn’t ideal of course, using it via komplete kontrol is easier and faster imho, but if they still offer that, and they improved it a bit, then it’s good option to have without a doubt.
Anyway, the practice is to send stuff here via any of the cloud services, google drive, dropbox, or whatever you use instead of attachments.

I have been able to audition enough of the pad, string, and plucked layers to save as local presets and also save to library. With a little guesswork I will no doubt figure out what some of the parameters are, just in case they don't send the accessible file. I'll send a link to the file if it gets here. For now, I feel like I have some great new patches to round out my work, and will probably always do my deepest sound design work within Alchemy and other synths I can fully use. Hooray for track stacking and using the MIDI Input slot in Inspector so I can also double-arm / play double manual. I have some other sound sources like Quiet Music's Healing and Bowls which aren't that accessible but I have been able to save patches from. That stuff plus Space Designer / Quantec Room Simulator, and that lovely little Juno 106 chorus from Tal Noisemaker can turn the spa or care setting into a floating ethereal space.

Truth be told, I hadn't gotten back into music since the '90s pre-computers at least for me, and I've been only producing with Logic for 8 years. And I'm still blown away by how much studio is in one little Mac Mini, more studio than the places I used to session at for indie film out here in Portland in the early '90s. And thank you guys or whoever it was who made Pianoteq accessible! I have the full studio bundle for them now, have been buying my way up to it for the past few years, and my gods the full richness of pianos old and new! And its pianisimo hsoft) pedal isn't just a filter, it sounds like the action was slid the way a real grand does.

So glad I found you guys, what a resource!

Cheers / slán go foille,

Dave
