Hi folks,

Finally got a response from the IEEE CCECE folks. Turns out I've got about 31 hours from when I received it to submit the revised manuscript. Pretty cool.

Attached is a copy of the feedback, delivered in screenshot format for whatever reason.

Most of it is formatting specific to IEEE, some small content mentions (the new section regarding the project's involvement with U of A and other external groups being the biggest), and a demand to rewrite the introduction to fit IEEE standards. I think I basically have all that already, but I'll be working on it and hopefully getting all the content and such done tonight.

Main thing that I'm not sure where to start on is the mention of needing more concrete sources on some stuff. Lots of information in the paper is sourced straight from project members, and if there's a citable place for some of it, I'm not entirely sure where that is in some cases (Teitelman's History of Interlisp has a lot, but I already cite that for plenty). I have a footnote that mentions that lots of the info is from conversations with project members who are witnesses to and participants in the events described, but maybe that wasn't clear enough.

In any case, working on it, and if anyone has any suggestions, ears are open.

Sidenote, I found on their website where the History session is: May 28th, 2:15-5:00. Can be seen on this page and also listed here under May 28th. So at least I know in what window the talk will be in! Big developments!!!

All the best,
-Ellie

Quick update before I head to bed and work on this some more tomorrow: I've updated the draft google doc. I highlighted all new, relocated, or notably changed text in green. These changes are made with the reviewers' feedback in mind, so read that to get some insight into why certain changes were made.

Otherwise, welcoming any and all feedback on those. Very much a first draft, will be revising it all tomorrow. I'm aware the external bit sounds a little harsh towards Fiverr right now, that'll be one of the first changes.

You're doing great work, thanks.

I left some feedback in the document, mostly potential sources to throw in. But most of the work of the project is unpublished, so the point of your paper is also to report on that work and bootstrap some published source to build upon.

The History program page on CCECE's site is finally being populated but Ellie's talk is missing, assuming her talk is supposed to show up there.

I finally found the talk listed on CCECE's site. It's on the Technical Sessions page under History of Technology II on May 28 https://ccece2025.ieee.ca/technical-program

For those who have trouble, here's the (print-ready, not-to-be-posted publicly) paper in print-ready form:

I noticed that they seem to believe that “InterlispOrg, Inc.” is a Canadian organization. 🤔

That's the Canadian branch of InterlispOrg, MegaCorp. 😀
