Hello,

I am trying to run the linkage mapper without success. I attach the error message. I am running the toolbox in ArcGis 10.8. Could somebody help me, please.

Thanks!

Failed to execute costAllocOut = arcpy.sa.CostAllocation(cfg.CORERAS, bResistance, cfg.TMAXCWDIST, cfg.CORERAS,"VALUE", outDistanceRaster);costAllocOut.save(alloc_ras) on try #5.

The following ArcGIS error is being reported on line line 157 of "C:\Users\Alejandra_User\Documents\ArcGIS\toolbox\linkage_mapper_3_0_0\toolbox\scripts\s1_getAdjacencies.py":
ERROR 999999: Error executing function.
Error no especificado
Configuration RasterCommander.ImageServer can not be started.
Server Object instance creation failed on machine ALEJANDRA-PC.
Image Server is not supported with the current license.
Failed to execute (CostAllocation).

NOTE: ArcGIS errors are more likely when writing to remote drives or deep file structures. We recommend shallow project directories on local drives, like C:\puma. Errors may also result from conflicts with anti-virus software (known problems with AVG). We have also seen conflicts when writing to synchronized folders like DROPBOX.

Note also that Linkage Mapper tools often work best when run from ArcCatalog instead of ArcMap.

Will try again.

Could be an ArcGIS hiccup.  Trying again in 5 minutes.

Hello Alejandro and Others,

When reporting an error please always include the log file as an attachement.  It is a .txt file.  I believe it is in ...\outputs\run_history \log\{directoryname}_Linkage Mapper.txt

Alejandro, Please reply with that and I will take a look when I get a chance.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Include the log file as an attachement.

my cores and resistance raster were two different coordinate systems, and I already corrected it, but the error persists

Thanks

Hi Alejandra,

It looks to me like a licensing issue. It is a bit hard with the spanish language translation to english.  Do you have your spatial analyst extension enabled?

If that is not the issue, I would try this with the sample data in the tutorial to see if you can get that working.

Thanks,

John

Hi everyone!

To fix

This issue can be solved easily using the following:

disable the Parallel Processing feature(Parallel Processing should improve the processing speed by utilizing multiple cores that we have on a modern processor. But, for some reason, this is not happening)

To do that,  open the process, eg.fill in this case.. Before  press OK to run the process. Click Environments.Scroll down to the Parallel Processing section. Type 0 and press OK. Now the process should work.

Thank you Javier!

And thanks for sharing.

Also, I am hoping to log this as a potential bug to fix.

I am wondering what your error was before this "workaround" fix.  Yes, normally hardware accepleration should be fine.

It appears that Alejandra's error was because an image server was not licensed, but I am not positive because of the spanish.

Thank you,

JOhn
