Dear Kris, I am trying to do some sentiment analysis with news items (421 txt files combined in 7 txt files). I have tried to upload them and when it seems to be processing them the process stops or simply is not finished.

I am using a pc, and the version of seance is 1.2.0. Could you please help me? Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Encarna

Try processing each text individually and see which ones process. There is likely an encoding problem in one or many of your .txt files.

Following up on a message from Encarna indicating that none of the texts would process - One potential issue is the length of the seven texts. Depending on the length of the text, your computer may run out of memory before the entire text (in this case, collection of texts) is processed. Spacy (the NLP program we use for tagging and parsing) by default limits the number of characters that can be processed in a single document. In the case of the version used in SEANCE, this is 1,000,000 characters (not words).

Is it possible that your files exceed this limit?

Best,

Kris
