Greetings everyone, covid19 has now become a huge challenge for conferences and public events, as well; many keynote speakers like myself are drowning in cancellations and it is getting worse by the minute. This may finally provide enough reason to shift to doing entire conferences 100% online - I have been talking about this to agencies and clients for years but couldn't get anywhere, until now (add the cost of bizarre flying around the world - as I often do- to these new virus issues, and you have even more reason to shift to online modes). Thus, we (my company, The Futures Agency) have teamed up with the amazing webinar/conference platform Zoom.us and have announced our first event for next Thurs March 12, 4pm, on Sustainability and the Future of Capitalism (see details below).
The event is free (only for this first edition, though) and it's limited to 500 participants. Some 320 people already signed up in less than 36 hours so it looks like we've hit a nerve - if you want to participate and help us figure out how large-scale conferences could be done 100% online, please sign up now! You'll just need to install the Zoom software, hook up your cam/mic and that's it. We will also live-stream this event on my Youtube Channel at www.gerdtube.com; and it will be made available to all registered participants for downloading afterwards.

ZOOM CONFERENCE
TOPIC: SUSTAINABILITY AND THE FUTURE OF CAPITALISM
I firmly believe that Sustainable will be the new Profitable, and that businesses and organisations that get on board early will have much better chances of striving in this new era.
Join us for this new Online Conference to learn all about why and how this will happen.
I will present and discuss the following topics:
1. Carbon Taxes: We must embrace the reality that wide-ranging and disruptive carbon taxes are pretty much inevitable. After the initial shock waves – and if done right – carbon taxes might not only inject Trillions of $/€ into climate change adaptation and mitigation measures, but may also fund up to 100 Million new jobs.
2. The Quadruple Bottom Line: The much debated shift to shareholder- (not just shareholder-) value is likely to reboot stock-markets around the world in the next decade, as we transition from the outmoded, single bottom-line of PROFIT to what I call the quadruple bottom-line: People, Planet, Purpose and Prosperity (in the essence, creating a new logic of 'sustainable capitalism' *Al Gore et al - 8years ago).
3. Responsible Investing: 2020 marks the beginning of a New Renaissance as responsible investing – and rapid divestment from fossil fuels, in particular – is quickly becoming a #1 topic with every fund and every family office, around the globe.
4. The humanly sustainable use of technology: Too much of a good thing can be a very bad thing: technology should be magic, not manic or even toxic. But who is ‘Mission Control’ for humanity – who is in charge of Digital Ethics? Do we need more regulation?

Hi Gerd,
Very nice presentation of your Youtube Channel. Great intro and as a clinical and organizational psychologist and head of behavioural consultancy unit of CROWE Portugal, I enjoy a lot analysing human behaviour and trying to predict how we deal with transitions, conflicts, losses and interpersonal sensitivities amidst the changes that the world is bringing.
I'll try to be aware of your activities and when in Portugal, let me know!
