** The Planning Board will be hosting a public workshop this coming Wednesday, 5 October @ 7pm at the DPW to begin the process of updating the 2002 comprehensive plan and is seeking public imput on Economic Development, Residential Policy, Town Center Development and Transportation Policy.

Tweeps interested in Lexington's Planning Department might also consider following the PD's newly minted twitter account @ https://twitter.com/LexPlanning We're a long way off from the Spanish Town of Jun ( http://huff.to/2dkFJU0 ), but encouraging town departments to use various social media, etc., to communicate and engage with residents is a good thing. **

It was a fairly quiet week this week.

Buffer Zones -

The second public forum for the buffer zone policy was held on Wednesday evening. The policy will next be read at SC meetings in Oct/November before being voted on and approved.

If you weren't able to attend either of the public fora, LPS has a new tool called "Lexington Listens" @ http://bit.ly/2d94scZ which aims to provide another way for parents to give their feedback to the district on buffer zones and enrollment.

The SC meeting this week will feature the official 1 October enrollment update and an iteresting in-depth analyses of LPS HR and SPED. The PBC will also have an update on Hastings.

Shanah Tovah to all who celebrate. :)
