PR #4140 supports @language jupytext. It's a natural addition to @jupytext.

My self-imposed deadline for adding new code to 6.8.2 was yesterday. However, I think the new code is worth bending the rules! The PR is completely safe:

- It makes no changes to Leo's coloring code.

It only adds two new methods.

- The new code will have no effect unless you use @language jupytext.

Summary

I shall merge this PR unless I hear objections.

Sigh. There seems to be little choice. Some last-minute testing revealed minor problems with @jupytext itself (not @language jupytext). So I'm going to merge this PR later today.

I have just merged this PR into devel. It did this because the previous PR re @jupytext left some details unfinished.

Leo's "6.8.2" branch will remain unchanged unless somebody reports a serious last-minute problem.

Please continue your testing!
