Leovue.js Shakespeare example: how were the nodes "By Category" and "By Time" constructed

i'm wondering if it is possible to provide attributes to nodes such as category and date and then programmatically generate the "by category" and "by time" nodes from the (Python) programming?

I can't comment on leovue, but in Leo itself it is possible. So-called user attributes can be attached to any vnode.
