Still no joy with ci.yml. Any suggestions?

I had hoped that PR #4826 would have allowed the ci.yml workflow to pass. Alas, recent tests show that's not true.

As a result, I have once more removed the ci.yml workflow.

I'm stuck. Does anyone have any ideas?

The script 'mypy_leo' is reporting an error again on Fedora Linux 44.

Here's the relevant part of the log:
