For years I have told Rebecca that little remains to do with Leo. For years I have found interesting and rewarding work to do. It's become a joke between us.
Now, however, there is nothing on my plate that excites me. The
full 6.3 to-do list contains about a dozen routine items. The
6.4 to-do list is even less exciting. I don't care whether any of the 6.4 items ever gets done.
In
part 2 I said that 2020 would be the year of the bridge. I have given this matter a great deal of thought recently, and I have
concluded that such bridges make no sense.
Innovation
There is one, and only one, essential requirement for innovation—an interesting, juicy problem. I see no such problem on the horizon.
Sure, Leo's code base could be improved. Imo, major refactorings of Leo's code base would be dangerous make work. Yes, it could be done. The foundation would be bespoke scripts that would verify that the old code is equivalent to the new. But this kind of project has no personal appeal.
Summary
No juicy, important, interesting problem relating to Leo is in view.
Maybe finding such a problem is what's next for me. Or maybe my work on Leo is nearing an end.
I'll let you know what develops.
